Sent my Deposit

I have couriered my security deposit of 2000$ Cad. It should reach by today max. I am now in the process of collecting documents for the Visa Processing. The Adcom needs to send me an unconditional offer letter. I think I should be able to meet my deadline of 15th Jan 2007 for applying to the VFS center.

Got Draft ready for Security Deposit

I have got the draft ready for paying the security deposit. My courier packet is now ready to be dispatched. I shall be dispatching the courier on 30th Dec so that it reaches the University on 3rd Jan.

Getting Draft for Acceptance deposit

I checked with various banks today for getting the draft of 2000$ cad to be submitted as acceptance deposit. To my dismay, ICICI and HDFC do not issue drafts in Canada dollars. These banks offer only for USD, GBP, and Euro's. Kind of preferential treatment.

Checked with one of the national bank, and it readily offered me the service through its NRI branch. I checked and compared the conversion rate and service charges of the national bank and with Thomas Cook. I am saving about 2000 Rs. by going with National bank.

So, my advice stick with the national bank (my case, it is Karnataka bank) for peace of mind.

Visa process Kick Start

Starting the Visa Process for Queens Canada from today. Gathering all the required Info and documents for applying to Canada Embassy. I am targetting 15th Jan date to submit my Visa application. The entire process will take at least 4 weeks time so sooner the better to start with the process.

Submitted the Cranfield Application

I submitted the application to Cranfield yesterday, and I think I will get some favourable response from Cranfield. Let us see, if I get an Interview call from Cranfield. I have to courier the documents to Cranfield. Will do so tomorrow.

I have decided not to apply to any more schools now on my list. I think I am pretty much decided on Queens, but would like to take an Interview call with CRanfield.

Another Reject

I received an email today from Manchester Business School informing me that I am not competitive enough. They have received applications from very srongly qualified (read GMAT score) applicants, and hence can not offer me a seat in the course (without Interviewing me).

Great, I respect the decision of the adcom and take this reject also in my stride along with ISB reject.
